Sue Austin

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Sue Austin, an integral part of the European Orthodontic Society for many decades, passed away on 23rd December 2023. Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Allan and her family.

Sue was first appointed by Professor William (Bill) Houston as an editorial assistant in the late 1980s. Her role within the society developed and encompassed not only her exceptional editing skills but also her administrative skills in the day to day running of the Society. She adapted to her ever-increasing roles and brought her extraordinary capacity for memorising facts and events to assist many presidents.

Although she retired from her role in 2021, she will still be greatly missed by the EOS community.
